Brief Bio
Dr. Jillian Anne Henderson is a Defence Scientist at the Defence Research and Development Canada (DRDC) Centre for Operational Research and Analysis (CORA). Her career with the Canadian Department of National Defence (DND) began in 2014 as a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Visiting Fellow and Senior Programmer at the Canadian Forces Warfare Centre (CFWC) researching data analytics of human factors in Command and Control experiments. In 2016, she started in the field of military career pipeline modelling and simulation with Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis (DGMPRA), bringing her experience to CORA in 2021 where she is a member of the Directorate Air Staff Operations Research (DASOR) Team. Dr. Henderson holds a doctorate in Science (Astronomy) from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM).

Brief Bio
Robert Mark Bryce is a defence scientist at the Department of National Defence. Holding a PhD in Physics from the University of Alberta, Dr. Bryce’s research interests lie in explanatory data analysis, using theory, modelling, simulations, machine learning, graphing, and other tools.

SCOPE
Within academia, government, and industry, strategic planning of personnel and resources uses a variety of tools to model, forecast, and investigate institutional behaviour to gain insight into the implications of policy decisions over the short- or long-horizon. The purpose of this special session is to bring together the community of military analysts and planners to share knowledge, methods, techniques, and lessons learned in understanding the fundamentals of military systems from mathematical principles to problem solving complex systems. The scope spans from the theoretical to practical application.
