Eric Pinson

Brief Bio
Eric Pinson, Ph.D. He is a Full Professor at the Institute of Applied Mathematics of Université Catholique de l’Ouest (Angers, France) a member of the Laboratoire d’Ingénierie des Systèmes Automatisés (LISA) research laboratory at Université d’Angers. He holds a Ph.D. (1988) in applied mathematics and informatics and an HdR (1994) from Université Paris VI (France). His research has been published in Management Science, Discrete Applied Mathematics, European Journal of Operational Research, Annals of Operations Research, and RAIRO Recherche Opérationnelle, among others.


He currently serves at the boa
rds of the LISA research laboratory, and the scientific council of Université Catholique de l’Ouest. He is also a co-founder and the chair of the LigéRO research group, a local federation gathering over 50 researchers in the field of operations research working in the Pays de la Loire region. Professor Pinson was awarded 1993 the ROADEF Robert Faure award for his contributions to the field of operations research.

Fernando Valente

Brief Bio
Professor at in the polytechnic education field for 18 years, having taught and been responsible for various core modules of Management Sciences and actively participated in several management bodies including the University Board of Directors, Technical and Scientific Council and General Council.

He has published several scientific events with national and international publication of the papers presented in the books of the same events.
Participated in international projects funded by the EU and in multiple events related to the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, he coordinated a
support unit for entrepreneurship (OTIC) for four years.

Worked in the private sector in a publishing company, where he worked as Production Director for seven years. He has been involved in private associations as member of the board as well as member of the general assembly.

He has also held management roles in three companies where he held equity interest, in the fields of food distribution, the distribution of medical rehabilitation and education field.

Begoña Vitoriano

Brief Bio
Begoña Vitoriano is Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Operational Research, Faculty of Mathematics, Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), where she obtained her Ph.D. degree in Mathematics (Operational Research). She also was a lecturer at the Department of Industrial Organisation and researcher of the Technological Research Institute in the Pontificia Comillas University of Madrid. Currently, she is also coordinator of the Master in Mathematical Engineering of the Complutense University.
Begoña Vitoriano has been involved in research and development projects all along her career, e
specially in technology transferring taking part and leading quite a number of research projects. She is author of numerous research papers.
Her areas of interest are Mathematical Programming (Integer and Stochastic Programming), Simulation, Game Theory and Multicriteria Decision Making, mostly focused on developing Decision Support Systems for planning and operation for several industrial sectors (e.g. power systems generation, railways transport, agricultural planning, disasters management and humanitarian logistics). It is in this sector of humanitarian logistics for disasters management where she is focusing currently her research, leading a team at the Complutense University with an international recognition. Besides she has got a big experience in Development Cooperation, leading several projects for El Salvador, Peru and Mozambique, and taking part of different Committees for Developing Countries (European Mathematical Society, IFORS, SEIO, CE-MAT...).
