Brief Bio
Ana Isabel Pinheiro Nunes Pereira, Coordinator Professor at the Department of Mathematics at Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, is vice-coordinator of Research Centre in Digitalization and Intelligent Robotics (CeDRI) - Polytechnic Institute of Bragança - and member of Algorithm Research Centre – Minho University - in the Systems Engineering and Operational Research (SEOR) R&D group. She is also Coordinator Member of Bragança “Ciência Viva” Science Centre. Ana I. Pereira got her PhD from Minho University (2006) in ‘Numerical Optimization’ area. She is the author, or co-author, of more than eighty journal papers, book chapters and conference proceedings. She participated in more than ten research projects in the areas of robotics, optimization and innovating tools in teaching. In particularly she was the IPB coordinator of the following projects: Strategic Partnerships Erasmus + KA2 “MathE - Improve Math Skills in Higher Education" with the aim to promote math in higher education (2018-2021), "E-Learning from Nature” with the aim of promoting science among secondary students (2015-2017), “Games Laboratory”, financed by Agência Ciência Viva (2013-2015), “Braganca@Science”, financed by Agência Ciência Viva (2013-2016) and “Eureka – Mathematical Games” also financed by Agência Ciência Viva (2006-2008).

Brief Bio
Juana López Redondo completed her studies in Computer Engineering in 2003. From then until today, she has worked continuously as a researcher. She obtained a PhD in Advanced Computer Techniques in 2008 with a Cum Laude mention and with a European Doctorate accreditation. As a result of her research, she has published numerous works in scientific journals of recognised quality. Besides, she has published several book chapters, a book with the results of her thesis and many contributions to conferences. Throughout her career, she has established collaboration with different research groups from various disciplines and thematic areas and has made stays in prestigious research centres (national and international).

SCOPE

Nonlinear Data Analysis and Applications Session emphasises modelling, theory and study of numerical algorithms for solving problems that need nonlinear data analysis procedures. Knowing the increasing use of nonlinear data analysis methods in science, engineering, economics, finance and industry, it is essential to develop new and innovated algorithms that deal with this complex context. Our goal in this session is to describe some powerful techniques for solving complex problems involving nonlinear data analysis.
